Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

Yesterday
Yesterday was moderately productive. I had planned to sleep in but woke up a 7:30 AM without an alarm. After doing nothing in particular until mid morning I took the train to the Loop to spend some time in the library. I'd really rather not waste the time to travel on the weekend, but I have trouble getting anything done at home. Arguably, the net efficiency is increased.

My time at the library was spent on my memo, which is due Friday. The topic is patent law focused (distinguishing between permissible repair and impermissible reconstruction of a patent combination) and I find it interesting. I should be further along by now and I try to ignore those who are.

The library closed at 6:00 PM and afterword Ashley, Jack, and I considered getting food. We dismissed the reopened Bennigans at Jackson and Michigan in favor of Cheesecake Factory. After taking the red line to Chicago Avenue and walking to the Hancock building, it occurred to us that (1) it was Saturday night; (2) CF is a tourist trap; and (3) we didn't care to wait. We walked along Delaware to Dearborn and north toward Ashley's apartment. We considered a number of other option but ultimately decided to go home. They opted for Jewel's frozen food section and took the train to Uptown.

The walk from Wilson station was interesting. Just west of the station there was a fire truck with its lights on. Headed east from Broadway I noticed a police car stopped in the westbound lane with the cabin light on working on a notepad. On down the block just before Kenmore there were two police cars parking in the eastbound lane and a handcuffed guy was being hustled into the back seat of the front car. At the next intersection, Wilson and Sheridan, there was a police parked on the curb on the northwest corner. This car also had its cabin lights on and two officers conversing in the front seat. Approaching the next street, Hazel, I noticed another cop car stopped in the westbound lane. The cabin light on and again the officer was working her computer with great attention. The only block on my trip not to have a police car? Mine.

Today
The library opens at 12:00 PM which for some reasons makes me want to be there when it opens. The bulk of today will also be spent on my memo, but I suppose I need to do some Civ Pro work too. The library closes at 11:00 PM. I don't think I'll make it.

Tomorrow
The world.
